These summer afternoons in the backyard with swings and chalk and sprinklers.

“To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.” -CO

And it’s for this reason that I work, so that as time marches on,
the movement and touch and color and laughter is not lost,
so that in my art the secrets are remembered, the griefs and joys and jokes and journey,
and the very heart of family is preserved.

This is a summer evening with Carter and Louie in their backyard just as the sun began to grow golden.
